![]() ![]() ![]() There’s something deeply satisfying about starting with nothing and ending with an empire, regardless of whether you pillaged villages or destroyed an entire forest to get there. Survival games are, a lot of the time, about the grind. In fact, we’re spoilt for so much choice when it comes to the survival genre that it can be hard to choose which one you want to plough hours into. Whether it’s the random resurgence of Project Zomboid, more Minecraft updates, or an entirely new title to the scene like Valheim, we’re spoilt for choice. Was wondering if anyone else has ever despaired over something so minor like this, or if I'm just being a baby.In recent years, the best survival games have showed no signs of slowing down. I've not been this upset about losing a save since I was a kid and my sister saved over my crisis core end-game save. Was on the verge of tears, over a stupid video game save. I have no more interest in playing the game anymore, I just put up an ad online for someone to buy this cursed item from me. Was finally able to break through difficulty of the game and make progress.all for nothing. Yay, no auto-saving on ps5! (Apparently even the ps4 version of the game on ps5 too) And I literally lose my whole day's progress. And I was holding my own against him too, after only a couple tries! Even though I'm terrible at the game I managed to cheese my way through the Stormveil castle, explore every nook and crany, and reach the boss. I spent hours exploring the first little island, killing map bosses, exploring dungeons, doing side quests. And even though I generally don't like open worlds, god damn it hooked me. ![]() Never really played a souls before (always too daunting), but gave elden ring a shot. ![]()
